When building an Observation Form, you can customize which widgets appear on the form and where on the form they appear. This article will provide an overview of all available widget and their function. Learn more about Default Form Setup here.

Assign Action Step
|
The Assign Action Step widget allows for the observer to quickly assign an Action Step on the Observation page. This list of Action Steps is populated during configuration. Learn how to add Action Steps or edit the existing list here. |
Assign Goal
|
The Assign Goal widget allows for the observer to quickly assign goals on the Observation page. This list of Goals is populated during configuration. Learn how to add Goals or edit the existing list here. |
Action Items
|
The Assign Action Items widget is useful if the observer often assigns Action Steps, Goals, and/or To-Dos during an observation. This widget allows observers to log any type of Action Item with some additional click throughs, compared to the Action Step or Goal-specific widgets. Observers can also view and edit active and mastered Action Items on this widget. |
Action Steps
|
The Action Steps widget allows observers to log Action Steps with some additional click throughs, compared to the one-step process on the Assign Action Step-specific widget. This widget offers some additional functionality; observers can view and edit active and mastered Action Steps on this widget. |
Double Running Record
|
The Double Running Record widget allows observers to log time-stamped notes for both students and teachers. Observers can use hashtags and @ signs to organize and search for information. Observers can make specific notes private or shared by toggling the eye icon to the left of the note. |
Files
| The Files widget allows the observer to add and attach files to the observation. Observers can upload from their computer, attach a link, or attach from the Grow Resource Library. |
Goals
|
The Goals widget allows observers to log Goals with some additional click throughs, compared to the one-step process on the Assign Goals-specific widget. Observers can view and edit active and mastered Goals on this widget. |
Help Text 1
|
The Help Text 1 widget needs to be customized in the Form-building process. You can change the title and provide text which will appear on the observation. Toggle "Hide on Draft" to make the text only appear on finalized observation or toggle "Hide On Finalized" to make the text only appear while the observer is working on the draft. |

Observation Details
| The Observation Details widget is commonly positioned at the top of an observation form. Log basic information about the observation such as school, course, grade, date and observation type. |
Private Notes 1 & 2
| The Private Notes widgets serve as spaces for the observer to write notes that will not appear on the finalized observation. The titles of these note boxes can be changed in form setup. |
Quick Hits
| The Quick Hits widget is a shared text box. Anything written here will be shared with the observee. |
Running Record
|
The Running Record widget allows the observer to log time-stamped notes. Observers can use hashtags and @ signs to organize and search for information. Observers can make specific notes private or shared by toggling the eye icon to the left of the note. |
Shared Notes 1
| The Shared Notes widget is a text box that will be shared with the observee. |
Time in Classroom
| The Time in Classroom widget allows observers to start/stop a running clock during the observation. |
To-Dos
| The To-Dos widget allows the observer to manage and assign To-Dos during the observation. |
Video
| The Videos widget allows observers to add a new video or upload a video and attach it to the observation. Observers can then add time-stamped notes to the added videos. |
